At VocalWitness, we believe truth should not require sacrificing privacy. We are committed to minimizing data collection while maintaining the integrity of the public square.
We use privacy-preserving technologies (including Zero-Knowledge proofs where available) so you can participate meaningfully while protecting your identity. We do not sell user data. We do not engage in surveillance advertising.
Email or phone number (for authentication), chosen username, and basic profile data you provide.
Testimonies, photos, voice recordings, and associated metadata (e.g., timestamps, cryptographic hashes).
Phone verification status and Zero-Knowledge proofs (where implemented). We do not store the underlying private data.
Anonymous usage statistics, IP addresses (temporarily for security), and device information for spam/abuse prevention.
You may delete your account at any time, which will remove your profile and unpublished content. However, content already published to the Public Square becomes part of the permanent record (like public speech) and cannot be fully erased.
Where implemented, ZK proofs allow us to verify that a user meets certain criteria (e.g., is human, has reached a trust threshold) without storing or revealing sensitive personal information.
We use Firebase (Google) for authentication, database, and storage. Your data is protected under their security standards. We do not share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Important: Public testimonies are visible to everyone. We strongly recommend that you never post highly sensitive personal information that could compromise your safety.
